Electric Theatre Workshop are investing in two brand new ideas to develop for Carlisle Fringe Festival 2018.

Carlisle Fringe Festival, now in its third year, will run from the 24th August – 2nd September 2018.

Two shows, 1 theatre & 1 dance/physical theatre, will be commissioned through the Creative Sparks fund and presented as part of the Emerging Talent platform during the festival.

The commission budget is worth £2000 of production resources.

Introduction to Producing

This is a one-day course designed to give an introduction and insight into the world of producing and is particularly appealing to students, emerging, mid-career artists or performance makers who have an interest in producing projects or being more enterprising.

The course is part of the Producers of the Future programme which is currently being piloted by Electric Theatre Workshop, Big Burns Supper and Carlisle Fringe

The programme is being supported by Cumbria University, Glasgow University and The Holywood Trust.

The course will include.

  • Producer behaviours
  • Producer skills
  • Network lunch
  • Pitching projects
  • Enterprise skills

The course will run

Saturday 17th March 2018 | The University of Glasgow, Dumfries Campus | 11.00am-4.00pm

Saturday 28th April 2018 | The Old Fire Station, Carlisle | 10.00am-4.00pm

The free Carlisle City Council Puppet Parade and Funday will be held on Saturday 19th August and will celebrate the city’s history and heritage.
As part of the Pageant festivities, activities are planned within the city centre between 11am and 4pm. The programme will include lots of family friendly fun, including face painting and street entertainers.
We will be hosting Flag making workshops in the run up to the Pageant. If you make a flag you get to walk in the parade with your creation!
